Holly Argent Tariq, CEO

Holly Argent Tariq, our CEO, is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and soon to be a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; she holds master’s degrees in both Science and Business Administration. She is the recipient of the 2014 Wholeness of Life Lifetime Achievement Award from The Health Care Chaplaincy, and the 2018 American College of Health Care Administrators Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award.

Ms. Argent Tariq has been the CEO of our umbrella organization, St. Mary’s Center, for the past nineteen years. Under her leadership, St. Mary’s has become a strong force within the New York City HIV/AIDS community, providing high quality outpatient and nursing home care to HIV+ New Yorkers. For the past eight years St. Mary’s Nursing Home has been recognized as one of the top 100 nursing homes in the United States by U.S. News and World Report.

During her time at St. Mary’s Holly began to see a greater need for accessible primary care within the Harlem community and she took the lead in this new endeavor. With her experience and vision guiding the project, Lotus Health and Wellness was born.

Holly’s areas of special interest include population health, cultural competence, and health equity.

Dr. Dominick Bioh

Dr. Dominick Bioh is an Internal Medicine physician who has been practicing in the Harlem and Morningside Heights communities for the past 19 years.  He grew up in Washington Heights in Upper Manhattan where he attended elementary school and later attended Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx.  He obtained his B.S. in Biology at Syracuse University and completed his medical degree at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.  He returned to New York City to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and has been in private practice in Harlem for the past 16 years.

Dr. Eng Tan, Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Eng Tan is our board certified Staff Psychiatrist. Dr. Tan completed his psychiatry training at Beth Israel Medical Center and has worked as a psychiatrist for our umbrella organization, St. Mary’s Center, for twenty years. Dr. Tan offers treatment for a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression and mood disorders, stress management, and social and work related problems.

Allison Reynolds, Director of Behavioral Health

Allison Reynolds, LCSW, LCAT, MT-BC is the Director of Behavioral Health at Lotus Health and Wellness. She has been counseling clients in the Harlem community with a variety of issues, including family/relationship stress, mental health, addictions, trauma and others for over 13 years, as both a clinical social worker and music psychotherapist. Allison received her Master of Social Work from Hunter College and her Master of Arts in Music Therapy from New York University. She is also an assistant adjunct instructor at NYU.

Dr. Mijin Kim

Dr. Mijin Kim, DA, LCAT is a licensed creative arts therapist and psychotherapist. She provides individualized, couple, and family psychotherapy for clients with mental and behavioral health issues related to substance abuse, current and past trauma, domestic violence and abuse, and others. Her practice focuses include helping clients develop insight into their dysfunctional emotional, behavioral, and relational patterns, learn constructive coping skills and decision-making in daily life, and establish positive relationships to self and others. She received her Master of Arts in 1994 and Doctor of Arts in 2005 from New York University and has been a mental health practitioner in New York and other cities for 25 years. She’s also taught in New York University, Molloy College, and SUNY of New Paltz between 2005-2016. She utilizes diverse therapy approaches including insight-oriented analytic therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, (EMDR) for trauma relief, psychodrama, and creative arts therapy.

Shobha Manaktala, Acupuncturist and Director of Complementary Therapies

Shobha Manaktala is a New York State Licensed and Nationally Board Certified acupuncturist. She completed her undergraduate work at Columbia University and holds Master’s degrees in both Science and Public Health. Ms. Manaktala graduated from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City in 1999 and has worked extensively in pain management clinics, medical day treatment programs and nursing homes. She currently works as the Director of Complementary Therapies for St. Mary’s Episcopal Center ADHC and Nursing Home and Lotus Health and Wellness Center where she is an integral part of the pain management team. She is also a consultant acupuncturist at Pratt Area Community Council’s Gibb Mansion, a residence for people with disabilities.

Melisa Solomon, Clinic Manager

As Clinic Manager, Melisa Solomon provides leadership in the day-to-day management of Lotus Health and Wellness. Melisa spent the early part of her career working in education, focusing on Development and Alumni Relations at Concord Academy and Development and Admissions at Montgomery Bell Academy. She later got involved with several non-profit community based organizations including the Prospect Park YMCA where she served as a member of the Board of Managers prior to becoming Director of Fund Development & Communications, and then Senior Director of Youth and Family Programming. Melisa also served as Executive Director for the Flatbush-Nostrand Junction Business Improvement District with a mission to revitalize the neighborhood’s commercial district. She is committed to the empowerment of her community and gains most enjoyment when working with groups who strengthen and enrich the neighborhood.

Ana Pena, Medical Assistant

Ms. Pena completed her medical assistant studies at the Sanford Brown Institute in New York City. Prior to joining Lotus Health and Wellness she worked at Bronx Lebanon Hospital and Montefiore Hospital as well as several private medical offices. In addition to her medical assistant certification she has certifications in Phlebotomy and A1C.
